Shabu Shabu proved to be a wonderful experience tonight.
I waited for Briggs as we made plans to go have dinner. I had Indian food the previous night so I really didn't want to have it again. He made hints earlier to wanting some chicken tikki marsala. I convinced him to try something new in Shabu Way. We met the owner there and shared a drink of sake with him. Through out the night laughter, sake and thiny sliced meat was served.
Apparently I was laughing quite a bit. A waitress named Ting came over and askd me what was so funny. After we had finished our meal i had notced that there was a strainer that we could pull the meats from the boiling waters. This was hilarious for some reason. When i told Ting she smiled and laughed with us. I asked her if she'd share a drink of sake with us. While she declined I pressed on. She told me that she wasn't allowed to as her boss wouldn't let her. When i informed her that her boss just had one with us she smiled again and said maybe after work. We agreed to meet after she got off work for a quick drink of sake.
While Briggs and I tried to sober up after three bottles of sake at the local coffee shop I couldn't wait to go back. Briggs on the other hand had to go. So what was I to do? I had a few personalized buisness cards with me so I went back to Shabu Way with my card in tow. When I entered the place I got another smile. This was a relief. I asked her to call me and told her thanks for everything as I handed her my card. I don't know if she will ever call. Honestly i'm not to sure that I care all that much. I'm simply just proud of myself for trying. If she does call then great. If she doesn't call then that's ok too. In any case it was a great night and I had a great time.
